About Myself

As far back as I can remember,
I wanted to work in the healthcare field,
a rewarding field where I could help heal others.
After seeing countless numbers of people just ignore
the source(s) of their everyday aches, pains, stress, tension, etc.,
I wanted to find a profession that would offer a solution without side effects.
People tend to heal more effectively when their body and mind are relaxed,
something many don't experience enough of on a regular basis.
For healing to occur, the source of the problem needs to be addressed,
whether it be the body's musculature, fascia, or other component.

With that mindset, and being very hands-on, I headed down the path of massage therapy,
a profession that not only offers a solution, but an enjoyable solution!

In addition to graduating magna cum laude from UMass Amherst,
earning a B.S. in Biology and minor in Psychology,
I also graduated from
Cortiva Institute – Muscular Therapy Institute (CI-MTI)
,
where I completed the accelerated, 1-year, 900-hour
Intensive Professional Training in Muscular Therapy Program.
With a combined history of professional academics and hands-on experience,
I confidently invite you to handle your health through massage therapy.

Massage Style

I am trained and certified in Muscular Therapy,
a style of massage developed by
Dr. Ben Benjamin (founder of CI-MTI)
that I would describe as being
a blend of Swedish and “deep tissue” massage.
While at CI-MTI, I was also exposed to
other massage modalities such as
Swedish, Neuromuscular, Myofascial, and Sports Massage
.

My massage style tends to be a blend of all of the above modalities, emphasizing certain ones depending upon my clients' needs during each session. In actuality, my style is like no other massage therapist’s;
my blend is never the same,
and I add in my own creativity and personal touch
...no pun intended!
